23rd Annual Father’s Day Car Show Hits Hyannis Main Street on Sunday

HYANNIS – More than 90,000 people are expected to attend this year’s 23rd Annual Father’s Day Car Show on Sunday.

The event, which takes place along Main Street Hyannis, is Cape Cod’s largest non-sporting annual event.

The Greater Hyannis Chamber’s signature event is also the launch of Main Street’s summer season.

Over 380 classic and nostalgic cars from New England and New York will be displayed.

“Being able to put your car on Hyannis Main Street, while it’s closed, is awesome and you don’t get to do that in many places,” said Chamber President and CEO Jessica Sylver.

Most cars must be 25 years old or older to exhibit and 40 awards will be presented to vehicle owners by area businesses.

The show starts at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 2:30 p.m. along Main Street until Stevens Street.

Attendance is free and free parking is available behind the JFK Hyannis Museum and in the North Street parking lot.

“It’s a complete family event,” said Sylver. “You’re in downtown Hyannis and steps away from Hyannis Harbor, so you can walk down to the artist shanties. It’s a win-win for everybody.”

The event is sponsored by Horgan Insurance, John’s Collision, Plymouth & Brockton Street Railway Company, Orleans Auto Supply, Sencorp White and Alfa Romeo.
