South Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, Centerville, is celebrating the religious faith of the United States Monday, November 5, with programs on prayer, politics, and spirituality. At 12:15 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., the congregation invites the community to share in an Election Eve Service of National Healing, a half-hour service responding to the current national polarization and incivility, with a time of prayer, poetry, scripture, and silence. At 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., the congregation continues its Homegrown Mystics series with a focus on the Spirituality of America’s poet Walt Whitman, whose poetry celebrates the holiness of the USA’s diversity, democracy, and beauty.
