      On Thursday, December 5, the Cape Cod Astronomical Society’s next speaker is CCA Foundation board member Gary Walker. Telescope Engineer and Astronomer of Nantucket’s Maria Mitchell Observatory and an avid astro-photographer, his talk “Is sCMOS the next Imaging Revolution?” covering the technological changes of Astro Imaging. First working with film, push processing, CCD (Charged Coupled Device) monochrome, colored filters, and now sCMOS (Scientific Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor), he compares results to determine which technique is best for Astro Imagers.

    The meeting, which is free and open to the public, starts at 7:30 pm in the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School Library. If you’d like, join us to catch dinner with the speaker before each meeting at 5:45 at the Hearth & Kettle, Route 28 in South Yarmouth.
