“Cape & Islands Green” Workshop Offered in Hyannis

HYANNIS – The Community Development Partnership will offer a 2 hour Cape & Islands Green Workshop on April 26 beginning at 8:30am at Cape Space in Hyannis.

The workshop helps business owners adopt “green” business practices and improve their bottom line by reducing energy consumption and increasing recycling.

The CDP, in partnership with Cape Space and the Cape Cod Tech Council (CCTC), will offer this workshop as part of EarthTech Month, a series of earth friendly events that will take place throughout the month of April.

The workshop is intended to educate and encourage small businesses to engage in sustainable business practices to reduce a business’s impact on the natural environment.

Topics include:

Solid waste minimization

Water and energy conservation

How to market a green business

The CDP partners with the Cape Light Compact to share expertise on how to reduce energy consumption.

After the workshop, the CDP’s professional team will be available to guide business owners through the process of becoming Cape & Islands Green verified.

Once a business is verified, the business owner will have the opportunity to market the business to energy conscious consumers using the Cape & Islands Green brand.

To date, the CDP has trained 68 C&I Green verified businesses on the Lower Cape.
