On Thursday, May 17th at 5:30 p.m., join us at our monthly movie night at Dennis Public Library.  This month’s feature is the 2017 award nominated film, The Post.  A political thriller based on true events, The Post was directed and produced by Steven Spielberg and stars Meryl Streep as Katharine Graham, the owner and publisher of The Washington Post and Tom Hanks as executive editor Ben Bradlee.  Set during the early 1970’s, it revolves around the efforts by reporters at The Washington Post to publish the Pentagon Papers, which were classified papers relative to the long standing participation by the United States government in the Vietnam conflict.  Graham decides to publish the story, but Nixon’s White House strikes back and the Post must appear before the Supreme Court to defend its’ first amendment right to print the information. The movie is rated PG13 and has a run time of one hour and 55 minutes.  Closed captioning is available.  We’ll provide snacks and drinks.  The Dennis Public Library is located at the corner of Route 28 and Hall Street in Dennis Port.
