Disaster preparedness is important to minimizing the impact of a disaster event and for families and communities to recover from as quickly as possible. Preparation requires knowledge and what better time than the present to learn some valuable tips and strategies for preparing for an unforeseen disaster?  At the Barnstable Senior Center t learn from one of our very own regional disaster preparedness & planning experts.  Mr. Joseph Gordon is the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management Director, member of the Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Committee and Barnstable County All-Hazards Incident Management Team.  He holds a Master’s Degree in Emergency Management from Massachusetts Maritime Academy; he’s a graduate of the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Advanced Academy Course, and alum of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government’s Leadership in Crisis Executive Education.
