Brewster Historical Society’s Farmers Market Kicks Off on June 24

BREWSTER, Mass. (June 7, 2018) –  The Brewster Historical Society Farmers Market is returning for its second season on Sunday, June 24, running from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at 51 Drummer Boy Road. The market is held every Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., June 24 through September 16 (no market September 2).

Vendors from across Cape Cod will be selling local produce, meat, lobster, baked goods, hand-spun alpaca wool, health and beauty products, and much more. The BHS Farmers Market offers SNAP, WIC, and senior discounts, with bonuses up to $10.

Family-friendly activities are scheduled throughout the summer, including a reading circle sponsored by Brewster Ladies Library, live music, scavenger hunts, and Sparky’s Hay Rides during select weeks. A working blacksmith shop will offer live demos with handcrafted items for sale, and the historic windmill will be open for tours. Local environmental nonprofit organizations will rotate each week at community tables that will educate and entertain.

“Choosing to shop local immediately benefits the community,” says Ellie Leaning, Market Manager. “Not only do you know exactly who you are buying from and where it comes from, but your purchase supports the local economy and sustainably-sourced produce, seafood, and meats, helping to protect the natural environment that Cape Cod is so well-known for.”

The event is rain or shine, but extreme weather closures will be posted on the Brewster Historical Society Farmers Market Facebook page the morning of. Questions about the market and vendor/sponsorship opportunities can be directed to Market Manager Ellie Leaning at
