Guided Seal Walks
All ages welcome; FREE, reservations required.
Join the Center for Coastal Studies (CCS) for this family-friendly educational and fun activity. Gray seals and harbor seals can often be seen resting on local beaches at areas called “haul-outs.” Join educators from both CCS and the Cape Cod National Seashore (CCNS) for a hike to a haul-out in Truro and learn more about the role these animals play in our coastal ecosystem. You can register seven days in advance for Wednesday hikes by calling the CCNS at 504-487-1256; to sign-up for Tuesday or Thursday hikes, drop in to SEA Space at Whaler’s Wharf or contact Jesse Mechling at 504-487-3622, x114. All walks begin at High Head in Truro in the parking lot off High Head Road. (1.5 hrs).
