Wellfleet Drive-In Theatre & Cinemas

Nauset Newcomers will meet on Wednesday, September 12 at 8:30 am at the Wellfleet Cinema on Route 6.

Author John Whelan will discuss his intriguing new book featuring ordinary people (natives and wash-ashores) who live on Cape Cod and the special connection they feel with the region. John and photographer Kim Roderiques drove the length of Cape Cod to interview and photograph individuals from Provincetown to Sandwich. These subjects collectively represent a cross section of Cape Codders (well-known and unknown) who give the Cape its particular character and spirit.

John Whelan and Kim Roderiques live in Chatham. John is a columnist for the Cape Cod Chronicle. He has written two books for children and has a Saturday morning oldies rock and roll show on WOMR-FM in Provincetown. Kim is a well-known photographer—her book Dogs on Cape Cod is a classic.

Nauset Newcomers welcomes residents who want to meet new people, participate in group activities, and enjoy the unique community of Cape Cod. An hour of socializing and refreshments will be followed by the meeting and presentation. For more information about Nauset Newcomers, please visit us at
