We bring you Open Mic Classical, a new experience in classical music based on an Open Mic format, to help our community’s musicians share their music with a friendly, supportive and appreciative audience.

Open Mic Classicalis an opportunity for classical musicians of all ages and levels to perform before a live and sympathetic audience, and also meet other musicians. Our events are held at 3:00 on the third Sunday of each month at the First Parish UU Church in Brewster, at 1969 Main St. Performers are asked to come at 2:45, and performers needing piano accompaniment are asked to contact Monika Woods (774-353-0244)a few days earlier.

We also welcome members of the Cape Community who want to be in touch with developing – and developed – musical talent on Cape Cod. High points of our Open Mic Classical events are featured performances by seasoned players.

While there is no admissions charge, $10 and higher donations are encouraged.

We are pleased to announce that our guest performers on Sunday, January 20, will be Ana Glig Ana Glig (a.k.a. Gligvashvili) is an award-winning Georgian-American pianist, praised by Musical America for her ability to “capture hearts.” Ana Glig has performed widely in the United States as well as Europe, including her native Georgia. As an orchestra soloist Glig debuted with the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto together with the Rishon LeZion and Evgeni Mikeladze Symphonic Orchestras in Israel and Georgia, respectively.

Her playing is noticed for sensitivity, depth of interpretation and ability to connect music through various thematic concepts and medias. She has recently released her album ‘Reminiscences.’ Based on the concept of homesickness and inspired by Western and Eastern European Music, ‘Reminiscences’ serves as Glig’s artistic endeavor to portray the world of an immigrant with underlying themes of separation, growth and longing for home.

Ana Glig holds a Master’s degree in piano performance from Mannes School of Music, The New School and an advanced certificate in piano performance and pedagogy from NYU Steinhardt, New York University.

Visit pianist Ana Glig’s webpage @ http://www.facebook.com/PianistAG. Her CD ‘Reminiscences’ is available at store.cdbaby.com/cd/anagligpiano.
