Partelow reads from her latest book of poetry

Judith Partelow reads from her new chapbook of poems, Carry Me Back: A Woman’s Life in Poetry, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Snow Library, 67 Main St., Orleans. Copies of the chapbook will be available for purchasing and signing, and refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

A longtime resident of Cape Cod, Partelow is a founder and member of the Scargo Hill Poets, based in Dennis. Her previous chapbook, A Woman’s Heart, was published in 2014 and inspired her play of the same title, produced at several local venues including the Women’s International Playwright’s Festival in Provincetown and at the Cape Cod Cultural Center in South Yarmouth. Partelow has been a featured poet at Writers’ Night Out at the Cape Cod Writers Center, the Provincetown Writers Café, the Brewster Ladies Library’s poetry program, and Voices of Poetry events in Chatham and Brewster. Her poem “Bedtime Story” was awarded second place by Marge Piercy in the Cape Cod division of the WOMR Outermost Poetry Contest of 2014. Her many achievements with poetry won her the Cape Cod Writers’ Conference Kevin V. Symmons Scholarship for Second Career Writers in 2018.

Partelow is also an actress and director who has appeared in many theatrical productions, readings and films over the years. She is a featured character in the cable series “Offseason” on Amazon Prime. She is a member of Screen Actors’ Guild and Actors Equity, and is on the board of the Cape Cod Writers Center.

She lives in Dennis.
