Mass Audubon's Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary

Summer is a great time for a stroll with Mass Audubon’s friendly and knowledgeable naturalists! Join expert birder Chris Walz to learn about Cape Cod’s shorebirds, raptors and songbirds. See beautiful bird species feeding on the marsh and mud flats of Barnstable Harbor. Explore the trails at Long Pasture, Sandy Neck Barrier Beach and the Great Marsh (check dates for walk locations) to learn how animals survive on the shore. Investigate hidden areas where terrapin turtles lay their eggs and discover how they make their homes in the marsh! Learn how the Cape serves as an important stopover point for bird species that travel up to 9,000 miles.

Participants should wear comfortable clothing for walking and bring water. Registration is not required. For questions about the walks, please call Long Pasture at 508-362-7475.

Sandy Neck walks meet at the Sandy Neck Gatehouse. Long Pasture walks will meet at Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary. Check dates for locations!
