3/15, 5:30PM, Easter Bunny Photo Op, Harwich Community Center – Stop by the Harwich Community Center to meet the Easter bunny, who will be happy to take a picture with you! Don’t forget to bring your camera. This year’s photo op will take place inside.

3/16, 10AM, LETR Polar Plunge for Special Olympics, Red River Beach, Harwich – The Harwich Police Department together with The Law Enforcement Torch Run is hosting its annual Polar Plunge this year! Head to Red River Beach, and take a plunge into the ocean to support Special Olympics athletes all over the Cape. Awards will be given to the Top Fundraising Individual, Top Fundraising Team and MORE. Plunge individually, join a team or start one of your own! Cheerleaders welcome. Sign up here. 

3/17, 11:30AM, First Annual St Patrick’s Day Brunch Train, Cape Cod Central Railroad – We have the “Pot of Gold” you are looking for with several scrumptious entrees to choose from plus an appetizer and dessertDon’t forget to wear your best dress in Green in case the Leprechauns are close by – we wouldn’t want to see you get pinched!!  Our brunch train includes three courses served while enjoying a blissful ride from Hyannis to the Cape Cod Canal and back. 3/23, 6:30PM – 9:30PM, Community Dance, Cape Symphony’s Falmouth Campus – Cape Symphony Presents invites you to a very special gathering in the Celtic tradition, featuring a session with Chatham fiddler Rose Clancy followed by a community dance led by traditional dance caller Summer McCall with live music by Cape Cod’s own Kelly Family Band. A Celtic session is typically led by one or two musicians, joined by any number of others on various instruments and vocals. The joy is in learning by listening, singing, and playing, and sharing this time-honored tradition. For the dance, Summer McCall will draw from Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton, English folk and New England folk traditions including contra-dancing and square dancing. The dances will be easy and fun to learn, and no prior experience is necessary! Summer will teach us all with patience and good humor. Not inclined to dancing? 3/30, 10:30AM, Easter Peter Cottontail Hop, Falmouth Museums on the Green – Start with a story time featuring excerpts from Burgess’ books, then enjoy a Peter Cottontail easter egg hunt on the grounds of the Falmouth Historical Society, or inside if it rains. Participants will also be given a bunny scavenger hunt of the campus to do later. Free, but donations are welcome. Limited Capacity, please pre-register here.

3/30, times vary according to age, Wellfleet Rec Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Uncle Tim’s Bridge – Wellfleet’s annual hunt will happen the day before Easter at Uncle Tim’s Bridge, with Wellfleet Elementary as the backup location in case of rain. Times are 11 AM for toddler/pre-K; 11:15 for Kindergarten – 2nd grade; and 11:30 AM for 3rd grade and up. Volunteers needed! Contact Wellfleet Rec at 508-349-0314.

3/30, 11AM, Easter Egg Hunt and the Easter Bunny at Mashpee Commons – Free, family-friendly Easter festivities at Mashpee Commons! Meet the Easter Bunny at from 11-3, and LEASHED pups can hunt for eggs promptly at 11 on the Mashpee Village Green. Eggs will be loaded with premium dog treats; please bring a basket and plenty of waste bags. Kids can get their face painted and search for eggs in the different shops, where they can enter for a sweet treat. More details are here.

4/3, times vary, Soup Bowls for Hunger, CC Regional Technical HS, Harwich – This hallmark event of the Cape Cod Potters benefits The Family Pantry, and is marking its 25th year. Pick out a handcrafted bowl, enjoy a simple meal of soup and bread, and take the bowl home as a reminder that hunger is a real issue here on the Cape. 4/20, 8AM, Yarmouth Community Cleanup Day, Yarmouth Town Hall – Meet at Town Hall to check in and grab supplies (safety vests, trash bags, pickers, and gloves), then head off to your favorite town area to clean it up! Wear comfortable clothing and footwear. Bring gloves if you have them. Rain date is Sunday, 4/21. Register and select your area here.

4/20, 9AM – 4:30PM, Boat America Course, Orleans Police Station – Improve your boating skills. Taught by U.S. Coast Guard trained instructors. Learn legal requirments of boating, nautical rules of the road, boat/paddlecraft handling and safety, basic navigation and trailering. Fee: $45 for course materials. 5/4, 7PM – 9PM, Classic Jazz Visions ~ with The Michael Persico Big Band, Sandwich Arts AllianceFeaturing the Jazz Photography of the Cape’s Own Jack Bradley. Admission: $25. Experience the life, the musical history and legacy, the very essence of the greatest icon of American Jazz, “Pops,” “Satchmo,” “Louis” Armstrong in a truly multi-dimensional immersive experience. Hear the greatest music of the Jazz Age played live on stage, by some of the finest jazz musicians in The Classic Jazz and Swing Orchestra. See images of Armstrong never before available to the public and hear the incredible story of how a young man born in Cotuit became the personal photographer and close personal friend of the great Louis Armstrong, all wrapped within the sounds that have become the foundations of American music.
