Brewster Ladies' Library

As part of the Library’s Third Thursday Documentary series and in honor of Women’s History Month, we will be showing a documentary about the history and culture of female superheroes.

The film “offers a nuanced critique of gender and heroism in popular culture as well as a powerful dose of Vitamin F(eminism) for the undernourished. The film goes behind the scenes with Lynda Carter, Lindsay Wagner, comic writers and artists, and real-life superheroines such as Gloria Steinem, Kathleen Hanna and others, who offer an enlightening and entertaining counterpoint to the male-dominated superhero genre.” (DVD Cover)

The documentary runs for 79 minutes. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.

This showing will take place on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at the Brewster Ladies’ Library.
