Truro Library Winter Music Series 2015

The Truro Public Library looks forward once again to hosting its Winter Music Series every Saturday at 1 p.m. in January and February, 2015. Sponsored by the Friends of the Truro Library, every week live music fills the stacks of our central space, and the community enjoys some revelry in the library. This year we welcome both old pals and new friends for your—and our—listening pleasure. Cerise Bynoe and the Charlie Jamieson Trio, Lou Roy and the Salt Pond Band, The Chandler Travis Three-O, Fred McGee, and Sarah Swain are among the 2015 performers. All ages are welcome; do bring a friend. As one of last year’s listeners says, “It’s just plain fun!” For more information, visit our website at www.trurolibrary.org or call 508-487-1125.

January

1/17 Monica Rizzio and Ben Kushigan
Monica Rizzio’s and Ben Kushigan’s dynamic duo bring versatile, genre-bending musicianship to the stage, rousing audiences with Americana, Folk, Jazz, Bluegrass, and more.

1/24 The Chandler Travis Three-O
What good is a Three-O with only three people? Chandler Travis is joined by like-minded, talented, and enthusiastic partners John Clark (string bass) and Berke “Rev. Earl Speedway” McKelvey (keyboard, sax, clarinet), along with The Valet, vocalist Fred Boak. Expect the unexpected from this virtuoso foursome!

February

2/7 Rob Peters
Rob is back, playing a mix of bluegrass, country and Celtic standards on his guitar.

2/14 Dan Barry
His musical and songwriting career established in Texas and Colorado, Dan Barry has spent the last decades closer to New England. With guitar in hand, he shares his own mix of inspiration, melding many genres including jazz, folk, rock and reggae.

2/21 Fred Magee
Fred Magee is a Wellfleet-based singer-songwriter who spent many years in a variety of bands playing rock, country, jazz, and lounge-lizard favorites. After a hiatus, he has returned to investigate the unexplored regions of songwriting; come hear a sampling of his iconic creations.

2/28 Sarah Swain and the Oh Boys!
Sarah and the Oh Boys! have been playing together since 2009 and never fail to whip up a crowd. The Oh Boys! feature slide guitar virtuoso Jerry Smith, “Rocket” Ron Siegel on upright bass, and Liam Hogg on drums. Sarah’s original set mixes in old Wanda Jackson and other rockabilly classics as well as some lost garage rock nuggets—rock/americana with a hint of country and an energy that galvanizes the room.
