Legal Consults in Elder Law ~ 9:30 – 11:30 AM.
FAMILY LAW, GRANDPARENTS, ADOPTION, GUARDIANSHIPS & CONSERVATORSHIPS and ELDER LAW. Through the generosity of Cape attorneys who donate their time, WE CAN offers low to moderate income women a range of ongoing free legal services. The consults will feature an attorney knowledgeable in Family Law, Grandparents Rights, Adoption, Guardianships & Conservatorships and Elder Law. Individual 30-minute 1:1 sessions are held – by appointment only – in the WE CAN office in Harwich Port and Falmouth. (NOTE: These sessions are in high demand, so there may be a wait for an appointment.)

Financial Empowerment Consults ~ Noon (12 PM) – 2:00 PM.
Falmouth General Finances – These 1:1 scheduled 45 minute sessions are available by appointment, including follow-up sessions as needed. Topics are tailored to individual needs and may include the following: Managing Money (budgeting, balancing a checkbook, savings planning); Managing Debt (eliminating debt, checking credit report, rebuilding credit, fraud, debt consolidation, general info on mortgages); and Savings Planning (emergency funds, retirement, estate, investments, college funds). Volunteer Specific Topic Areas may include: tax information, small business finances, mortgage specifics, refinancing, foreclosure, bankruptcy, retirement & estate planning; 529 educational plans, reverse mortgages, estate planning, special needs planning & trusts.

Work Support Consults Noon (12 PM) – 3 PM.
Business start up, marketing, RESUMES, career exploration, job search strategies, cover letters, interviewing skills and developing a LinkedIn profile. These are one 1:1 meetings with a Work Support Volunteer. These meetings are generally 1 to 1 ½ hours in length and often involve follow up through email or another face-to-face meeting. Please bring a list of work history, including tasks performed, or your current resume. For career exploration, please complete self assessments and bring with you. (NOTE: These sessions are in high demand, so there may be a wait for an appointment.)
