Adventures in Deep Sea Fishing with Art’s Dune Tours

Art's Dune Tours: Land and Sea

Picture 12 of 12

Art’s Dune Tours has expanded to combine their popular dune tour with all the best Provincetown has to offer. From sunsets to sailing tours and now deep sea fishing.

The Land and Sea Tour adds a 3 hour fishing charter with Chas’n Tails to the popular sunset tour followed by a dinner at Mac’s Seafood where your catch would be cooked. Don’t worry if you don’t catch anything, you can order from the extensive menu (excluding lobster).

Art’s Dune Tour has always been a family business. Started by Art Costa in 1946, the business is now run by his son Rob. Rob’s aunt works in the office greeting customers and taking reservations. The fishing tour is no different. Captain Russ, who mans the Lisa Zee, is married to Rob’s cousin.

Capt Russ is a native Cape Codder. He grew up watching his grandfather make a living as a fisherman. The love of the water was instilled at a very young age. He bought his fishing boat at just 12 years old and has never looked back. With over 40 years of experience, you know you’re in good hands!

Chas’n Tails operates out of the Provincetown Harbor aboard the Lisa Zee. She’s a custom built Downeast style boat that was built in Westport, MA and completed in Fall 2006. The boat was comfortable for our 6 person group. It also had a nice sized berth area to protect us in case the weather got bad.

This is a by far a very unique tour. The three hours aboard the boat were filled with beautiful views of Provincetown from the water. Capt. Russ made sure the equipment was set up correctly and those of us who weren’t veteran fishers understood what to expect. The excitement of an afternoon catching striped bass spilled over into the evening.

We continued our day with a Sunset Dune Tour. The light in the dunes at that time of day are unparalleled. The dunes were calming. The views seen from the top of the dunes are like nothing else on the Cape. Our guide was knowledgeable and funny. We learned so much about the inhabitants of the dunes from animals to plants and what they do to survive the unique landscape. We learned about the dune shack residents including several famous visitors over the years. We finished the tour at Race Point Beach watching the sunset right on the water.

After the Sunset Tour, we were dropped off at Mac’s Seafood where our catch had been prepared. For those whose catch had to be thrown back or who didn’t catch anything at all, they were able to choose a dinner from the extensive menu at the restaurant (excluding lobster). Mac’s Seafood is popular across the Cape and it’s easy to see why. It was the perfect end to an unforgettable day.

Book your Land and Sea Tour today. The combination of fishing, visiting the dunes, and dinner in Provincetown is a one of a kind experience. Call Art’s Dune Tours on 1-800-894-1951 and ask for the Land and Sea Tour.
