What’s Big Papi got on his retirement bucket list: David Ortiz says he finally wants to get to see Cape Cod.

“I can go to the beach!” Ortiz told the Boston Herald, adding that his family has often vacationed on the Cape but that he’s never been able to.

Ortiz, who is planning to hang ’em up at the end of the current baseball season, said he’s also looking forward to spending more time with his family and would be open to a Sox coaching gig.

“The family part – we get to spend a lot of time away form the kids and they are at an age where you need to monitor things in a better way and I’m looking forward to it,” he said. “I have a couple of businesses I’d like to be more involved with. I’ve been playing baseball on someone else’s schedule for a long time. It gets to be time to start doing your own thing.”

Ortiz is currently promoting MasterCard’s Priceless Boston experiences that include opportunities to purchase dining, sports, shopping, arts, entertainment and travel experiences that were previously reserved for just the chosen few.

Some of the experiences that will be available to purchase on Priceless Boston include throwing out the first pitch at Fenway, a tour of the ballyard with “intimate Red Sox player meet-and-greet, premium seats, with chance to spend two innings inside the Green Monster,” and a chance to assist the grounds crew with a few on-field tasks prior to the game.

The program launches April 20 at priceless.com/boston.
