HAC Seeks to Find Best Stuffed Quahog on Cape Cod

July 27, 2017 (Hyannis, MA) – For the third straight year Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) is on the hunt for the best stuffed quahog on Cape Cod as part of its Quahog Challenge. The event, which takes place on Sunday, August 6, from 1-4 pm, at Trader Ed’s in Hyannis, will pit eight restaurants, from Falmouth to Truro, competing for the right to be crowned with the title of the tastiest stuffie on Cape Cod.

“It’s one of my favorite events of  the year as everyone who attends has a smile on their face while enjoying some delicious stuffed quahogs and ultimately helping those in need on the Cape,” said HAC’s Event Coordinator Deanna Bussiere.

Two-time champion Arnold’s Lobster and Clam Bar in Eastham, will be returning to defend their title. They will face competition from Cape Tip Seafood Market in Truro; Doggz & Hoggz in Falmouth; Fresh Ketch in Hyannis; Portside Tavern in Hyannis; Spanky’s Clam Shack in Hyannis; Trader Ed’s; and Wicked Good Seafood, a food truck out of East Falmouth, which will be competing in the upcoming season of “The Great Food Truck Race” on the Food Network.

This will be the second year that Michael Bullard, owner of Doggz & Hoggz, has competed in the challenge. “It was a lot of fun last year,” he said. “One of the reasons we did it is we want to contribute to the great work that Housing Assistance Corporation is doing.”

Proceeds from the event will go to benefit HAC, a 43-year-old nonprofit based in Hyannis, which provides housing services and solutions to those on Cape Cod and the Islands.

Tickets, which can be purchased at www.quahogchallenge.org, are $20 per person in advance and $25 at the door. Kids 10 and under are $5 per person.

In addition to sampling a variety of stuffed quahogs made by the top restaurants on the Cape, those who attend the challenge will get one vote to cast for their favorite. Each guest will also receive one sample of ice cream, courtesy of Polar Cave Ice Cream in Mashpee, and one sample of Narragansett Beer for those over 21. There will also be live entertainment provided by Four Guys Cape Cod.
