What was your first paying job?
It was back in 1964 . I assembled bikes and pedal cars at Jack and Harry’s on Main Street Hyannis for $1.10 an hour
When was the last time you laughed really hard? Why?
Last week. I was spending time with my granddaughters. They are just so cute, innocent and funny!
Did you grow up on the Cape?
I am as local as you can be! Born right in Hyannis.
Where is your ‘go-to’ spot for a scoop of ice cream?
Sundae School in Harwich Port. They have the best hot fudge sundae around!
Do you have a favorite non-profit group here on the Cape? Who? What makes them stand out to you?
The Glenna Kohl Fund for Hope. I knew Glenna and her family. I love the beach and sunshine but we all have to be careful when it comes to over exposure to the sun. From their website: The Glenna Kohl Fund works to increase awareness of the Cape Cod community to the importance of early detection and prevention of melanoma and to support those fighting this deadly disease.
What is the one thing you love to do that surprises people the most?
I really enjoy cooking great, healthy, delicious meals and mixing in a nice cocktail in before the eating begins!
In a parallel universe, what would you be doing?
I’d be an airplane pilot with an outstanding collection of vintage airplanes like a P51, P38, a nice biplane… or two!
What person had the greatest influence on you and why?
My parents. They were both hard working, inventive, loving and caring people. A great way to grow up is with parents who cared, communicated, advised and kept me straight on course.
If I looked in your refrigerator right now, what would I see?
I keep my fridge packed with good fresh food of all sorts! I also have plenty of condiments, sauces and international tastes to spice up my stir fry, my tamales or my steak and lobster.
If you could go out on a boat fishing for a day, who would you bring ?
I would definitely invite Ernest Hemingway! He loved fishing, a good time and a good laugh. Also imagine the many good stories he’d tell.
