2019 Black Ale Project Event celebrating Nick Xiarhos’ birthday! Live music from with High Attitude, great food from the Yarmouth House, cash bar, and Cards for Guards! As part of the Black Ale Project, a portion of the proceeds from the R&R Tropical Stout will be donated to the Nicholas G. Xiarhos Memorial Foundation Fund.   Please bring a $20 Gift Card so we can give to the US Coast Guard and other Military Families affected by the partial Government shutdown.  Cost of admission is a $20 donation to the Nicholas G. Xiarhos Memorial Foundation Fund.

Living With Your Wild Neighbors, Sat, 1/26, 2 PM, Harwich Community Center.

Wild Care, the nonprofit wildlife hospital located in Eastham dedicated to the rescue and release of injured and orphaned wildlife on Cape Cod, will talk about coexisting with the critters who also call Cape Cod home. Wild Care rehabilitates over 1,700 animals per year; everything from bald eagles to white-footed mice. Stephanie Ellis, their executive director, will cover what to do when you find animals in distress, who to call locally, and will also bring special wild guests. harwichcommunitycenter.org

The Xylophonia Ragtime Marimba Band, Sun, 1/27,3 pm, Cultural Center of Cape Cod, Yarmouth

This unusual and wonderful band plays ragtime music but also some other gems things like the theme from The Muppet Show, a lovely version of Danny Boy, a Guatemalan folk song with Latin percussion, etc. for variety, for humor, and to help tell the story of the music and the instruments. The performers all talk during the program, telling short anecdotes and facts about the history of ragtime and the instruments. cultural-center.org
