Looking for Family-Friendly Fun? Try One of the Cape’s Great Bowling Alleys!

We’ve been lucky so far with winter weather, or lack thereof, here on Cape Cod. The cold temps, however, may still be enough to put you in search of some fun, indoor activities for the family or with friends. What activity could be more fun than bowling?

We are fortunate to have some really great places to bowl on the Cape, so it all depends on what else you want to do while you bowl. Here is our list of bowling alleys and what they offer.

Ryan Family Amusements – Ryan Family Amusements is a staple for family entertainment, and for good reason. With locations in South Yarmouth, Buzzards Bay, Falmouth, and Hyannis, as well as multiple off-Cape locations, it offers old-school, ten-pin bowling (with gutter bumpers and bowling ramps for kids) as well as arcade games, party packages, special events, and league play. Visit their website at ryanfamily.com for more information.

The Lanes Bowl & Bistro – Here is a place that literally has it all. Located in Mashpee Commons, The Lanes offers space for the kids to bowl while the adults relax and enjoy a cocktail and some impressive food at the bistro. Just feet away from the bowling area, the bistro offers a quieter experience. The state-of-the-art bowling alley has comfortable couches and high-top tables, and your server can bring your food right to you there, if you choose. Check out their events and specials at lanesbowlandbistro.com.

Ten Pin Eatery – Here we have the new kid on the block, so to speak, and customers are totally loving it. Located inside the Cape Cod Mall in Hyannis, Ten Pin Eatery not only offers great bowling and great food, but entertainment options for all ages. Try out the new and exciting games in the arcade or the Cape Cod-themed interactive laser tag arena. They’ve even teamed up with Ryan’s Family Amusements across the hall to offer two Virtual Reality arenas with multiple game options and some of the best technology on the market. Don’t leave without trying one of the three themed escape rooms! Visit tenpineatery.com for more information.

Trade Center Bowl – Located in Falmouth, Trade Center Bowl is the perfect place to meet up with friends, relax and bowl a few strings. They have an impressive new pool room, and a darts room, too! They have regular bowling leagues and a warm, welcoming environment. It’s a great place to hold a function or party. Check out Trade Center Bowl’s Facebook page for more information.

The Alley Bowling & BBQ – Also known as Orleans Bowling Center, The Alley is located on Route 6A, and offers a full menu, lane-side dining, a dull dining room, an outdoor patio, a kids’ menu and family-friendly candle-pin bowling. The facade of the building can be recognized by its deep-blue whale mural, painted by local artist Greg Johnson, in 2003. League bowling, private parties, darts, and a casual atmosphere can all be found here. Visit alleybowlingbbq.com.
