Today is the day! We will be able to witness an historic solar eclipse! Or maybe not? Here on the Cape, we will only have a 66% eclipse, rather than the complete blackout some parts of the country may enjoy. Unfortunately, even a 66% solar eclipse can be difficult and even dangerous to watch. That said, there are other options.
If you are stuck inside, or simply a cautious person who would rather not stand outside wondering if you are damaging your eyes, NASA will livestream the entire event from 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm. Follow the link and you can watch the total eclipse from the comfort and safety of your laptop or smartphone:

Animals do react to a solar eclipse. According to zoo experts, nocturnal animals could wake up at begin looking for food. Other animals may become restless and make a lot of noise.
