Take Your Charity Event to the Next Level!

lbobEvery year there are more than 3,000 charitable and corporate golf outings held in southern New England alone. That’s some serious competition. Whether you are a seasoned event planner or a novice jumping into your first event, one of the key questions to ask is, “What do I need to do to differentiate my event from the competition?” The days of the $100.00 shotgun with a hot dog at the turn and a full field are done. Today’s events must provide the players and sponsors with a meaningful experience that resonates with them. In a nutshell, they must stand out.

One of the key elements of a successful fundraiser is the ability to attract sponsors at all levels. Entice sponsors with a great return on their investment and they will choose your event over others. Most sponsors want to be appreciated for their contribution. Leaderboard of Boston provides highly valued exposure for sponsors to showcase their involvement in front of a key target audience while entertaining amateur golfers with the look and feel of a professional tournament. In the charity golf world this gives your event a competitive advantage which is even more important during difficult economic times. Since 2004, Leaderboard of Boston has supported more than 700 events and has helped raise more than $25 million dollars!

Golfers, business people and sponsors are inundated with requests to contribute to local charity fundraisers. They cannot support all of them. The question becomes how to make your event more memorable, more enjoyable and more profitable for the charities involved. Sponsors quickly recognize the value of increased exposure and therefore are much more willing to increase their level of involvement. Leaderboard of Boston can help you raise the bar to make your event stand out from the field. Here are a few noteworthy examples:

Since the launch of the LeaderBoard Air Cannon in 2014, we have created an amazing buzz at more than 200 events across New England while raising more than a quarter million dollars. As a sponsorship opportunity there are few equals. Sponsors spend the day with us on the Air Cannon Hole, interact with the players and have a few minutes of quality time with each group, a key target demographic. With more than 95% of all players opting-in, this is clearly a sponsorship with a great ROI.

From a fundraising perspective a properly planned charity golf tournament is at the head of the list for many organizations. This also means the competition to attract players and sponsors are fierce. How can an event gain a differential advantage? One way is to launch a campaign several months prior to their event with a fully interactive website dedicated to the tournament. The site needs to be functional and easy to use with advanced features to register players, collect payments online, bid on auction items and organize teams, all with a few keystrokes. The program offered by Golf Squid is a great example of a powerful new offering that greatly simplifies the process. Added benefits include no cost to create your tournament website (save hundreds of dollars) and full access to Golf Squid’s partner and national retailer Golfsmith. Obtain discounts for a wide range of products and services to help make your event more profitable. Also built in to the Golf Squid program is a full service web app to promote your event and a free listing on the Golf Squid website.  All for one low flat rate per event.

Consider this revealing statistic: Since its introduction over twenty years ago, more than 8 out of 10 of all LeaderBoard backed events have committed to at least a second year based on the increased revenues generated.  Golfers rave about the “LeaderBoard Experience”. Sponsors gain exposure with a key target audience and the charities involved are the principal beneficiaries.

Bottom line, your organization can run a successful fundraiser based on the additional, highly profitable sponsorship opportunities available. We become your partner in the success of your event and custom design the format and content that works best for you. Best of all we work with clients of all sizes and budgets. LeaderBoard will help take your event to the next level!
