The Cape Cod Kennel Club and the South Shore Kennel Club have joined forces for a weekend of great canine competition! This is an all-breed dog show with obedience and Diving Dog competitions each day. Canine Good Citizen, Pee Wee, And Trick Dog Testing competitions will happen on Friday & Saturday. 9th Science in the Seashore Symposium, Thurs, 9/12, 1 PM, Salt Pond Visitor Center
Cape Cod National Seashore’s Atlantic Research and Learning Center hosts this popular afternoon of learning which features a diverse group of scientists and scholars sharing the natural and cultural research projects they are conducting within the seashore. There will be a number of engaging presentations on a variety of topics, including bats, ticks, coastal shoreline change and spit formation, Herring River restoration, kettle pond microbiota, and more. nps.gov/capecod

Run Around the Jail 5K, Sat, 9/14, 9 AM, Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office
This is a fundraiser for local Special Olympic Athletes and an extension of the Law Enforcement Torch run! Registration will open at 7:00am. There will a half-mile Kids’ Run at 8:45am and the 5K Run/Walk will kick off at 9:00am. Harwich Cranberry Festival, Sat & Sun, 9/14-15, 9-4, Community Center Fields on Oak Street
Shop for fantastic arts and crafts during this two day event held behind the Harwich Community Center on Oak Street. 150 vendors will sell unique handmade items. Entry and parking are free. While you shop, enjoy a wide variety of live on-stage entertainment at the Cran Jam, which runs Saturday from 12:30-8. Fireworks are planned for Saturday night. 24th Yankee Lambda Car Club Provincetown Car Show, Sat, 9/14, 10 AM, Pilgrim Monument
Antique and classic cars will be on display including a 1930 Ford Woody, a 1955 Hudson, classic Corvettes and more. Visitors can vote on the People’s Choice Award for their favorite car. Admission is free! After the car show, the cars will assemble for a classic car parade, which starts at 1:30.
