Where To Go & What To Do This Week On Cape Cod

With so many people flocking to the Cape for Thanksgiving, it’s a good thing there are so many events coming up this week and into the weekend! From Turkey Trots to photo contests and plenty of holiday lights! We’ve got it all right here:

Pilgrim Monument Annual Lighting/Monumental Photo Contest, Wed, 11/21, 5-7 PM

The monument will hang 3,100 lights from 19 strands from top to bottom, and will shine every night through January 6, representing the five weeks the Pilgrims spent in Provincetown before setting sail for Plymouth. A new Monumental photo contest will be held Anybody interested in participating can send their best photo of the lighted monument. Submissions will be accepted through 1/13. www.Pilgrim-monument.org

Chatham Turkey Trot, Thurs, 11/22, 8 AM, Chatham Orpheum Theater

Fun Walk or Run – over 3.1 mi.of winding & rolling paved roads. Benefits Lower Cape Outreach Council’s emergency programs. Register 7- 8 am, at the parking lot behind Chatham CVS. Adults $20, Children $5, plus a bag of non-perishable grocery items for adults and 2 grocery items for children. If you missed the free shirt registration date, a limited number of shirts will be sold Thanksgiving eve at the Chatham Community Center 3-6 pm on a first come, first served basis. www.Chathamturkeytrot.com

18th Andrea Holden Thanksgiving 5K, Sat, 11/24, 10 AM, Whig St/Scarsdale Rd, Dennis

This popular community benefit 5k Run/Walk welcomes all and is held each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Lighting of the Lobster Pot Tree, Sat, 11/24, 5:30 PM, Lopes Square, Provincetown

The Lobster Pot Christmas Tree is an annual holiday tradition in Provincetown! A unique lobster pot tree is built each holiday season the heart of the town’s Lopes Square, stacked with over 100 real lobster pots borrowed from local lobstermen. Great photo opps!
