Why Golf is the Perfect Sport for Kids

The idea of a day on the golf course might seem more of a pastime suited for retirees, but golf is actually the perfect game for kids. In a world filled with so many screens, golf is a great way to spend time with your child or grandchild outdoors. It gives you a chance to enjoy nature and get exercise with no technology required.

It’s suitable for all shapes and sizes, so no one feels left out if they aren’t the strongest, fastest, or tallest one on the course. If you do a bit of research, you’ll see that golf champions have come in all shapes. In golf, it’s more about skill than size.

Kids can learn life lessons by playing golf. Dealing with the highs and lows of the game will teach your child skills they’ll use in other parts of life. During the course of a golf game, they’ll learn to keep each shot in perspective, develop decision making skills, and manage emotions.

In addition, golf can create lifelong friends. Golf is a seen as a very friendly and sociable game. You never know who you’re going to meet on a golf course.

Golf can become a lifelong hobby. While others may say they once played football in college, golf is a game that your child can continue their entire lives.

Getting your kid involved in golf has never been easier, thanks to Dennis Golf. Dennis Golf runs two beautiful courses: Dennis Pines and Dennis Highlands.

Children and teenagers under 18 are welcome anytime at Dennis Golf and play for only $10 when accompanying a member or paying adult.

Youth Clinics are run during the summer for all abilities to encourage more young people ages 8-14 involved in the game. One hour classes run for 5 consecutive weeks Wednesdays from July 5 to August 2.

The clinics work on putting, chipping and driving. The kids will receive instruction from golf professionals and members of Dennis Golf.

Maryellen Fabiano-Stowe of Dennis Golf told CapeCod.com, “This has been a very successful program in the past and is quite fun.”

This is a fantastic opportunity to introduce your child or grandchild to a new hobby. The staff at Dennis Golf are ready to welcome beginners to the Youth Clinics this summer. You don’t even need your own clubs! To find out more and sign up, visit the Dennis Highlands Pro Shops or give them a call at 508-385-8347.
