Brooks Academy Museum in Harwich Holding Open House

HARWICH – New exhibits are opening up at the Brooks Academy Museum in Harwich for the season.

An open house will be held on Sunday, June 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. to debut the exhibits which explore the story of Harwich during the “Guilded Age” and take a look back at World War II.

The open house will include music by the Harwich Town Band.

The workshop of the town’s famous bird carver Anthony Elmer Crowell will be on display to visitors as part of the Crowell Barn museum.

The barn will depict Crowell’s life and work through audiovisual and photographic displays, tools and bird carving demonstrations.

Admission to the museum is free on opening day.

The exhibits at the Brooks Academy Museum and the Crowell Barn continue through October 10 and are open on Thursdays from 1 to 6 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m.

Admission during the season is $4 for adults and there is no charge for children or students.

The museum is located at 80 Parallel Street in Harwich.
