HYANNIS – SCORE Cape Cod and the Islands “Make A Difference” event, a networking and volunteer recruitment fair, is coming to Cape Cod Beer later this month.

A panel of SCORE contributors will share how they have been able to use their experience and expertise to make a difference in the Cape community.

SCORE mentor, Megan Murphy, the inspirational creator of “The Kindness Rocks Project,” will be joined by SCORE resource partner Kristina Dittmer, owner of the Optimist Café and SCORE client Jamie Bohlin, owner of Cape Cod Celebrations.

The event is meant to celebrate volunteerism and encourage mentorship among the business community on the Cape.

Attendees will have the opportunity to network and learn about the various volunteer opportunities that SCORE provides, ranging from mentoring to teaching workshops to being a subject matter expert available to small businesses.

SCORE Cape Cod and the Islands will share its mission of volunteer mentorship and community building explains Chapter Chairman, Bill Simpson, “Cape Cod has a unique economy and SCORE volunteers are making a real difference in our business community.”

“We’re so lucky to have a pool of educated and experienced people with a lot of knowledge to share. When we get all those people in the same room, it’s amazing what we can accomplish together. This event is also an open invitation to new people who are interested in supporting the SCORE mission but haven’t attended an event in the past.”

The event is set to take place Wednesday, September 25th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

It is free to the public and light appetizers will be served along with a cash bar.

Cape Cod Beer is located at 136 Phinney’s Lane in Hyannis and offers on-site parking.

Advance RSVP is requested, if you are unable to attend the event and want to learn more about SCORE, call the office at 508 775 4884 or email [email protected].
