Local Churches Plan Harvey Fundraisers

BARNSTABLE – Organizations across Cape Cod are doing their part to raise money for those in need in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church is holding a car wash fundraiser on Saturday. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church’s parking lot on Main Street in Barnstable Village. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the American Red Cross.

Parishes of the Fall River Diocese will be holding a special collection at Masses this weekend, with all proceeds benefiting Catholic Charities USA, which will provide pastoral and rebuilding support to dioceses affected by the storm. 

The Church of the Messiah in Woods Hole is planning a potluck chili dinner on Monday, September 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. Proceeds will be given to the Episcopal Church’s Relief and Development agency.
