1 Dead, Another Seriously Hurt in Yarmouth Crash

ambulanceYARMOUTH – A Harwich man died after a single vehicle crash early this morning on Blue Rock Road in Yarmouth.

According to Yarmouth Police Sergeant Neal Donohue, the 28-year-old victim, who was a passenger, was thrown from the vehicle after the Audi hit a large boulder in the front yard of a home near Great Western Road around 1:30 a.m.

Donohue said he was pronounced dead at Cape Cod Hospital.

Yarmouth fire and rescue crews used the Jaws of Life to free the driver, a man, from the vehicle, which had flipped into a tree, according to Yarmouth Fire Captain Tom Lundquist.

The driver was also taken to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries described as serious and life-threatening.

Police are still investigating, and would not comment if charges would follow.
