100,000 Oysters Dispersed for Orleans Thanksgiving Harvest

ORLEANS – The Orleans Thanksgiving Oyster Harvest begins this weekend.

Town officials say roughly 100,000 oysters have been dispersed in Pleasant Bay for the harvest beginning on Saturday.

The oysters will be between two orange buoys off the Route 28 landing. The area is accessible from shore at low tide.

Valid family permit holders can take one 10-quart basket per week. Commercial permit holders can also take one 10-quart basket for family use only.

Oysters must be 3″ minimum in length.
