2.0 Magnitude Earthquake Reported in Wareham-Onset Area

WAREHAM – Boston College’s Weston Observatory, Earth and Environmental Service has confirmed that a 2.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Wareham-Onset area early Wednesday morning.

Wareham and Onset residents reported hearing a loud sound and shaking around 1:30am, according to a post from the Wareham Department of Natural Resource’s Facebook page.

The observatory is currently doing more research on the event and is expected to update the Wareham Department of Natural Resources as soon as they can.
