3 Arrested on Drug Charges in Shanghai Investigation

Police OfficerHYANNIS – The Barnstable Police Street Crime Unit arrested three Hyannis men Friday night after alleged cocaine and heroin distribution at the Shanghai restaurant in Hyannis.

Sherman Anderson, 36, and Marcus McDowell, 23, were both arrested at the Ridgewood Avenue restaurant after warrants were issued for their arrests.

Anderson was charged with two counts of cocaine distribution and police said he was carrying 3 grams of cocaine.

Police said McDowell was in possession of marijuana at the time of his arrest.

He has been charged with one count of cocaine distribution and possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute.

Madison Bohanna, 41, was arrested in Dennis on an outstanding warrant and was charged with 2 counts of distribution of cocaine.

All three men are currently being held at the Barnstable Police Department on bail and will be arraigned tomorrow in Barnstable District Court.

The case is still under investigation and police said they expect more arrests to follow.

The SCU was joined in the investigation by Mashpee, Yarmouth and state police, along with the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department.

According to police, the SCU made 12 drug buys in the restuarant involving eight suspects.
