COTUIT – Three new exhibits are coming to the Cotuit Center for the Arts next month.

Between May 12 and June 10 attendees can view an open juried exhibit, “Bloom,” “Beyond Nature” by Laura Fantini and “SHE: Ancient Vessel, Ancient Wisdom” by Kimberly Scott.

“Bloom,” which is a collaboration with Cape Cod Collaborative Arts Network, will feature the work of local artists of all abilities, including artists with disabilities.

The drop off date for gallery-ready pieces is Monday, May 7 and the entry fee per piece is $15.

“Beyond Nature” features the hyper-realistic minimalist art of Laura Fantini. She specializes in colored pencil still life defined by strong contrast values, intense details and highly theatrical compositions.

Sculptor Kimberly Scott’s “SHE: Ancient Vessel, Ancient Wisdom” celebrates the universal woman, going back to the Goddess that most ancient cultures revered as the creator and sustainer of all life.

The sculptures are female in form, in varying degrees of abstractness and a few are literally vessels that could be used as vases.

A talk with the artists will be held Saturday, May 12 at 5 p.m. and will be followed by a reception until 7.
