3 Local Projects Receive State River & Wetland Restoration Grant Funding

BOSTON – Three local projects have received state grants for river and wetland restoration.

The funding is through the Department of Fish and Game’s Division of Ecological Restoration’s Priority Projects Program.

The program provides projects with grant funding, project management, and contracted technical services for wetland and river restoration, urban river revitalization, and streamflow restoration projects that present the greatest benefit to the state, ecologically, socially and economically.

A total of $140,000 was awarded to Falmouth and Plymouth.

Falmouth was awarded $50,000 of the Coonamessett River Restoration Project. Plymouth will get $90,000 for the Foothills Preserve/West Beaver Dam Brook Restoration and the Holmes Dam Removal & Newfield Street Bridge Replacement projects.
