3 Transported From Falmouth Police Station After Incident Involving Person in Custody

FALMOUTH – Three people were transported from the Falmouth Police Department Friday morning after an incident involving a suspect who was being brought into the station.

According to the department, 38 year old Russell Pena of Falmouth was arrested during a narcotics investigation, during which police found marijuana and cocaine.

Police said Pena became combative at the police station and, during an altercation, pulled a bag of narcotics believed to be heroin from his pants and slung the substance towards officers.

Three of those officers were transported to Falmouth Hospital for exposure to narcotics and were released.

Pena is being charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a class B substance, trafficking of a class A substance, obstruction of justice, and two counts of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.

Pena is being held on $25,000 bail.
