Affordable Housing Project Proposed in Harwich

HARWICH – The Harwich Affordable Housing Trust heard a presentation from developer Chris Wise last week.

Wise wants to build a major 40B rental development off of Route 137 in Harwich.

“If we can join together in the thought process of this, help to develop that plan, density-wise and location-wise, I don’t think you can get a better location,” Wise said.

Wise has worked on multiple projects across Cape Cod, including The Harwich House and The Melrose in Harwich Port.

Wise did not have a specific plan for the 12 acre site at the meeting, because he wishes to work side-by-side with town officials on the matter and utilize their input.

“I would love to just throw it out there as an open canvas and say, ‘Here’s what we can do as a joint partnership,’ however it gets permitted, however it gets executed, and that I am all in to do it,” Wise explained.
