Cape Cod Community College to Hold 57th Commencement Today

HYANNIS – Cape Cod Community College will celebrate its 57th Commencement ceremony this afternoon at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis.

The college will award degrees and certificates to 568 graduating students and Dr. John Silvanus Wilson, Jr. will deliver the Commencement Address. He currently serves as the Senior Advisor and Strategist to the President at Harvard University.

Wilson was the former President of Morehouse College and former head of President Obama’s Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Yarmouth Police Chief Frank Frederickson, who graduated in 1979, and 2015 graduate Matthew Dolan, the CEO for the Addiction Treatment Center of New England, will be honored as the college’s Alumni of the Year.

The ceremony begins at 4 p.m.
