4C’s to Receive Aircraft Engine for New Program

ENGINEPLYMOUTH – Cape Cod Community College will receive a V2500 aircraft engine during an event on Monday morning.

The engine is being donated by aviation company Pratt and Whitney for the college’s new Aviation Maintenance Technology Program.

A representative from the company will join college president John Cox and aviation program staff to talk about the delivery, the program and how the engine will be used in their training at the event at 8 a.m. at Plymouth Municipal Airport.

The engine is a workhorse of the Airbus A320 series and the McDonald-Douglas MD-90 aircraft flown by many different airlines including JetBlue.

The engine will be used in the program that will train technicians to repair and maintain other aircraft body elements and engines.
