Triple A Northeast Survey Could Be Good News For Cape Cod Tourism

BOSTON-  A new report released by AAA Northeast could mean big business for the Cape and Islands during this up-coming summer season.

The report has named Boston as number 9 out of the top 10 places tourists will use their vacation time during the warm months.

“Its great news not only for the city but also for Cape Cod and Massachusetts as a whole… more and more people are continuing to come into the state,” said Drew Carlson, Triple A Northeast Public Affairs Specialist.

Orlando, Florida took home the number 1 spot, while Honolulu, Hawaii, Anchorage, Alaska, and Seattle, Washington followed close behind.

AAA adds that road trips remain the most popular family vacation option for those staying stateside, despite higher gas prices. Nearly two-thirds (64 percent) of those planning a family trip are expected to hit the roads this year.

Carlson adds that if you are planning a trip in the next few weeks “plan ahead, book early for the best deals and availability…. [and] work with a travel agent… it could be a tremendous help if something were to go wrong… [it also helps to] always be flexible [when planning your next trip].”
