Boston- One hundred twenty companies across the Commonwealth were awarded shares of 11.9 million dollars by the Baker Polito Administration as it celebrates October as Manufacturing Month.
The Administration says the Workforce Training Fund Program money will spur workforce training of nearly 7,000 workers and create more than 1,000 new jobs in the state.
Governor Charlie Baker says “The evolving manufacturing sector and new, innovative technology continues to provide successful careers for Masschusetts’ workforce to support their families. “
“We are excited to see these funds put to work creating new jobs and training for thousands more workers,” Baker continued.
Lt. Governor Karen Polito and the State’s Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development, Rosalin Acosta, announced the grants on Thursday at E Ink Corporation, with headquarters in Billerica and a manufacturing plant in South Hadley.
