Amid Financial Struggles, Mashpee Tribe Holding Job Fair Today

MASHPEE – The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe is hosting a job fair today as they deal with a series of layoffs and cutbacks in tribal services.

The tribe has partnered with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Rapid Response Team to assist citizens who may be looking for work.

The tribe is reportedly millions of dollars in debt as they try to build a resort casino in Taunton. The project is currently held up in federal court.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday February 2 at the Tribal Community and Government Building. Attendees are encouraged to come prepared for on-site interviews.
