Annual Natural History Conference Coming In March

WELLFLEET – On Saturday March 17th, the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary will hold their annual Cape Cod Natural History Conference.

Attendees will learn about local conservation efforts, research projects and environmental organizations through a variety of presentations.

Topics for this year’s conference are the Cape’s secretive and elusive marsh birds, translocation success of captive bred spadefoot toad populations in restored wetlands, forecasting freshwater toxic blooms and the vulnerability of Humpback Whales to ship strike and entanglement around the Cape.

This is the event’s 23rd year.  It will take place at Cape Cod Community College in the Tilden Arts Center, and will run from 8:30 until 3:00.

Refreshments and coffee will be provided and it’s suggested that you bring lunch.  Coffee drinkers are asked to bring a mug to cut down on waste.

Registration is $25 before March 10th, $30 after March 10th or at the door.
