Annual New Year’s Polar Plunges To Benefit Cape Charities

polar plungeYARMOUTH – Hundreds of Cape Codders will take to the frigid waters tomorrow in a series of annual polar plunges to benefit a variety of charitable causes.

Yarmouth: 12 PM at Bass River Beach. Yarmouth police officers and town officials will raise money for the Friends of the Yarmouth Council on Aging, benefiting the town’s senior citizens.

Barnstable Village: 3 pm at Millway Beach. Benefiting Barnstable Fire Captain Ed Guilford and Liz Glennon, a mother of three, who are being treated for brain tumors.

Bourne: 12 PM at Monument Beach. The Monument Beach Polar Bear club will raise money for the Bourne Food Pantry.

Cotuit: 12 PM at Loop Beach. The polar bear club will raise money for a Mashpee family after their 14 year old was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

North Falmouth: 11 am at Old Silver Beach. Benefiting the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

Provincetown: 2 PM at the Johnson Street parking lot.
