Annual Tour De Trash will Clean Up in Harwich

HARWICH – Volunteers will be gathering in Harwich next weekend for a late celebration of Earth Day by helping to clean up the community.

The 4th annual Tour de Trash is hosted by The Harwich Conservation Trust, in partnership with the Town’s Conservation Department, AmeriCorps Cape Cod and the Tour de Trash Planning Committee.

Each year the groups lead volunteers to fan out across Harwich to pick up trash for a thorough spring cleaning.

Things get started on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Harwich Community Center, and the trash pick-up will last until noon. Following the clean-up, volunteers will be provided with lunch.

Participants are reminded to wear a bright colored shirt, boots or closed-toe shoes, and bring work gloves. Disposable, non-latex gloves will also be available.

Bags for trash pickup, and all the other accouterments like reflective vests, pickers and gloves will all be provided.
