BREWSTER – A family of cats are recovering at the Animal Rescue League of Boston’s Brewster Animal Care and Adoption Center after being discovered living in a woodpile behind a South Yarmouth home.

The 2-year-old mother, Juliet, was covered in ticks and a vet exam revealed a heart murmur.

Depsite being in the elements, the 9-week-old kittens are in good health but are under socialized.

The felines will be spayed and neutered and cared for until they are ready to be adopted.

The cats have also received all vaccinations and flea/tick treatments.

Although it is several months beyond the normal mating season, the ARL has seen an increase of homeless kittens throughout its three locations. With the winter weather beginning the organization is trying to get the cats off the streets and into homes.
