HYANNIS – High school seniors on Cape Cod who are pursuing higher education creative arts programs will have a chance to get some financial help.
For the fifth straight year, the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod have teamed up to offer five student scholarships through the Positively Different Arts Foundation Scholarship program.
The scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and require the submission of a portfolio and essay.
Additional areas of study have been added this year including architecture and graphic design under the visual arts category, and set and costume design within the theater arts category.
The other categories are music, dance, and creative writing.
Scholarship submissions will only be eligible from students who are graduating from a public, private, tech or home school, living on Cape Cod and have been accepted into a degree program at an accredited college or university.
The selections will be made based on the quality of the submitted works along with academic achievement.
Students can apply at artsfoundation.org. The deadline is Wednesday, June 1.
