BARNSTABLE – The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod has announced its Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea Honorary Chair.

Retired Barnstable Police Lieutenant David Cameron was recognized with the honor at an event at the Barnstable Police station Friday.

Cameron retired in January after serving over 35 years with the Barnstable Police Department.

Cameron served on the Pops Steering Committee for more than 10 years and worked with the FBI in Boston in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings to ensure concert attendees at the 2013 concert would have a safe and enjoyable time.

The concert takes place on August 14 at 5 p.m. on the Hyannis Village Green.
