HYANNIS – For the second year, the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is awarding spring fellowships and an online application for funding is now available.
The goal of the Spring Fellowship Program is to provide cash awards to Cape Cod artists at critical times in their creative lives for professional development.
The fellowships are awarded to applicants based on craftsmanship, artistic quality and creative ability.
Last year Richard Neal was awarded a fellowship in the area of visual arts.
Neal says the grant money he received helped to pay most of his studio rent for the year. The award also helped him to land an exhibition at the Cape Cod Museum of Art which made more people aware of his work.
Three $1,500 fellowships will be awarded this spring in visual arts, performing arts and written word.
The grants are funded from the proceeds of the foundation’s Patron Program and the annual Pop’s by the Sea concert.
Guidelines and the online application for the fellowships can be found artsfoundation.org. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 25.
